| PHILOSOPHY, TOUR GOALS & ETHICS:Biophilia Tours believes that people will revere, nurture and defend that which they know and love and obversely may ignore, subjugate and exploit what is outside of their personal experience or understanding. An experiential immersion can produce the caring required for individuals to assume the responsiblity of stewardship. We endeavor to provide customers with experiences that will be both educational and emotionally transforming. We believe that humans need to be included in the tapestry of life, not dominating it. We believe that shared experiences, among both human and nonhuman life may enrich both. We believe that each human culture eminates in large part from its environment and that a healthy culture developes in response to a healthy environment.(and vice-versa) We believe that humans have an innate desire to love life, living systems and each other.(Biophilia) We believe that science is asking good questions, not having all the answers. We believe that open, inquisitive minds make positive change while closed minds never do. We believe in leaving something of ourselves everywhere we go - in a positive sense.

Since finishing his graduate school in environmental education at Audubon Expedition Institute (Lesley University) which expanded his appreciation for community and stewardship, he has further developed his naturalist/teaching style by showing tourists in Bar Harbor seals, eagles and a big lobster claw on "The Acadian" Nature Cruise. Internship at Schoodic Education and Research Center has anchored his heart to Schoodic Point, Acadia National Park, Maine.
